House and Museum of Gilberto Freyre

Is a charming farmhouse built in the 18th century and marked by the colectionism. At the present time is a house museum of the renowned Brazilian historian, anthropologist and sociologist Gilberto de Mello Freyre.
The building immortalizes the life of this historic character. You can see the sociologist's personal belongings, such as paintings, handicrafts, and a large collection of books as well as antique furniture, fine porcelains, silver and folk art pieces.
The place, where everything is arranged like it was in the time of the Master of Apipucos, houses the collection that includes a copy of the Lusiadas and panels of Portuguese tiles (XVI and XVII centuries) and the collection of arts.
It's in front of a square surrounded by trees and old houses in the quiet neighborhood Apipucos, a suburban area of the state capital of Pernambuco.
The museum houses some fruit trees planted by the owner of the place. Around the house, there is an ecological area.
