Vista Carneiros, the highest (108m) and longest (700m) rappel experience in Pernambuco, opened recently in March 2013 and reaches 80 km/hour, as part of a larger eco-adventure project near Carneiros beach.
The adrenaline packed experience was conceived by Santa Catarina Guia Vertical, an experienced designer and operator of such equipment, and has been tested by ABETA, the Brazilian Adventure Tourism Association and has all the other necessary operating licences and full insurance for users. For 2014, the hotel's owners intend to add trekking, rock-climbing and eco-trails to the radical adventure experience for guests and day use.
It is situated about 80km south of Recife near the Praia dos Carneiros Resort Hotel, with one of the most stunning panoramic, or indeed now literally breathtaking, views we know of in the region. The hotel has a comfortable base on Carneiros beach itself reached by their own catarmaran at the end of the Formoso and Ariquinda rivers' estuary.
