Memorial Luiz Gonzaga

The Memorial Luiz Gonzaga is a cultural facility of Recife, whose main objective is to preserve and disseminate the greatest legacy of Luiz Gonzaga, his music, and everything that surrounds it, all intangible assets that revolutionized music in Brazil of the 40's and 50's century.

The building hosts the most important things of the greatest popular music of the Northeast, and one of the country's greatest songwriters and musicians.

Beside the museum is also a center of memory and research, which offers casual visitors, researchers and tourists, not just information from its physical collection and expographic project.

The Memorial also aims to be a central receiver and disseminator of knowledge produced about the work of King the Baiao, establishing links and partnerships with similar institutions, using the resources of information technology with dynamic and purposeful profile.

The current collection was formed with the acquisition of Mavi collection of the Netherlands, the Municipality of Recife, formed by rare 78 rpm discs, Long Plays, CDs, photographs, printed matter, scrapbooks, videos and audio files MP3 format.
