Both museum and shop, J. Borges studio displays the work of this famous cordel poet and xylographer. Despite his international fame, J. Borges is a simple man that receives daily flocks of visitors and happily explains his work to them. You can see the master at work and learn straight from him how simple carved wood blocks become works of art.

Visitors can see some of the xylography imprints by the master. At the shop, it is possible to purchase frames, drawings, tiles and a host of other articles bearing the J. Borges drawings. The images range from individual and simple characters to large paintings, with a cast of dozens, representing typical scenes of the countryside and its folklore.

If you are interested in cordel poetry, you can also buy both the poem booklets and the wood block matrixes used to print their ilustrations.
