Ponteio Grill
Recife
You've heard about it: the 'rodízio de churrasco'. Brazilian steakhouses became famous worlwide for having their waiters circle around the room serving guests a plethora of different beef, lamb and chicken cuts. It's is better than any all-you-can-eat buffet since it has top quality meat and you don't even need to get up to get it!
In Recife, there are a number of such steakhouses, and the 'Ponteio Grill' is one of the finest in the Boa Viagem district. Breads, toasts, sauces and other antipasti are served as soon as you get to your table. The main attraction, naturally, is the 'rodízio', which brings you 24 different cuts, including filet mignon, lamb, chorizo, fish filet, exotic animals such as wild boar, and the all-time classic, the 'Picanha'. The buffet stretches over a long table, comprising salads, seafood and some hot side dishes. At the end, the dessert cart will bring to your table a host of pies, cakes, ice creams, fruit salads and chocolate treats to finish off your feast.
The Ponteio Grill used to be located right on the Boa Viagem avenue, which gave it a magnificent view of the ocean. The current, recently opened house is one street behind the Feirinha de Boa Viagem, which means the view is gone, but in compensation the space is much larger, meaning waiting lines are very short.
